Andy is honored to have been part of several special events over the last few years. In 2012, Emerge Art Gallery hosted Andy's woodworking exhibition, where many pieces were created with a soldier's sacrifice in mind. Portions of the sales benefited US Army Ranger 1st Lt. Nathan Rimpf, who lost both feet to an IED during his tour in Afghanistan. Read about Andy's exhibition here. Andy has also donated custom pieces to benefit the local ALS Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter's Walk to Defeat ALS. In 2012, Bates Woodworking was a proud sponsor for Bright Night, a 5K for Ovarian Cancer Awareness. Each year, Andy donates pieces to benefit the Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge's community outreach programs.
